How to find windows serial number in CMD

If Your Computer Turns On

  1. Open up the command prompt window on your computer. You can do this by searching for “cmd” or right clicking on the windows home icon in the bottom left corner of the screen.
  2. In the command window type in “wmic bios get serialnumber”. The serial number will then be displayed.

If Your Computer Doesn’t Turn On

Acer serial numbers may be located in one of these locations.

  • The sticker on the base of the computer directly below the barcode after “S/N”.
  • For desktop models, the sticker located on the side of the machine near the bottom directly after “S/N:”.
